“THE GREATNESS OF A COMMUNITY IS MOST ACCURATELY MEASURED BY THE COMPASSIONATE ACTIONS OF ITS MEMBERS.”
~ Coretta Scott King
A food co-op is essentially a grocery store that’s owned by the people who shop there. At the Morrisville Food Co-op, we emphasize healthy, organic, fresh and locally produced products. By supporting our local growers, farms and producers, we can provide quality products to consumers, while also strengthening our local economy. We strive to promote products that are naturally produced and organic products raised in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.
Recommendation from Board Member Susan Titterton
Check out VPR’s Brave Little State topic for this month “Why are Vermont
co-ops so successful?” It’s informative and inspiring. Here’s just a snippet:
“Co-ops are in the DNA of the state of Vermont. You get together with your neighbors and you do what needs to be done. It just fits the milieu and the personality, if you will, of the state of Vermont.”
Happy listening!
