A Message from the Board of Directors
Amrita Parry & Eric Besecker as our new Co-General Managers
The Morrisville Food Co-op Board is pleased to announce that Amrita Parry and Eric Besecker will share the role of General Manager at the Co-op, beginning immediately. Since mid-November Amrita and Eric have been working together to ensure a smooth managerial transition and a positive shopping experience for members and other customers throughout the holiday season. As Co-GMs, they will continue and extend that work.
Eric was hired in May 2021 to be the Grocery Buyer & Culinary Manager and also to create the new grab-and-go and expanded café program. Eric has extensive food experience as a farm-to-table chef and educator at the New England Culinary Institute and at various well-respected restaurants around Vermont. He is committed to forging strong connections between the community and our great local farmers and producers.
Amrita came to the Co-op in August 2021 as the Produce and Bulk Manager. She has spent 20 years working in the Vermont food system, including retail experience at the Newport Natural Market & Cafe in the Northeast Kingdom. More recently, she managed Green Mountain Farm Direct, a non-profit food hub operating throughout northern Vermont. Amrita is passionate about small-scale agriculture and local food.
The Board voted unanimously to form this new Co-GM structure. We are excited to have Eric and Amrita in these roles and are confident in their abilities to lead the Co-op forward into the future. Please join us in offering them our unqualified support and our best wishes in their new roles.
From all of us here at the Morrisville Food Co-op, we are honored to be serving our community during this time and
thank you for supporting your local food coop!
